2023 : Call for Articles
·

The journal Technoetic Arts will publish two issues in 2023. We welcome contributions for issue 1 on a continuing basis until 30 June 2022 and for issue 2 until 30 October 2022. The Technoetic Arts journal is listed in Scopus and the Emerging Sources Citation Index, among other academic indices. Please see the journal’s website at Intellect for further information.

Issue 1 of 2023: General Call for Articles

Technoetic Arts welcomes contributions between 5,000–7,500 words that focus upon the juncture between art, technology and the mind, drawing from academic research and often unorthodox approaches. In addition, Technoetic Arts invites a variety of scholarly material – including research articles, interviews, transcription of roundtables, as well as contextualised artist statements and speculative fiction. For proposals of special issues based on conferences, or if you have questions about article formats please contact the editors.

Deadline for submission: June 30, 2022

Issue 2 of 2023: Women in Art and Science

Women in the field of Art and Science have an unquestionable presence worldwide that exceeds their visibility in the general visual art scene. We are interested in cataloguing their range of practices and exploring how these women’s agency in Art and Science could serve as a model of inclusivity and access to the public sphere for all individuals working in art. Technoetic Arts welcomes contributions between 5,000–7,500 words that focus upon the documentation and contextualization of art and science projects that are being carried out by women in its broadest interpretation – individuals who identify themselves as women, cisgender, non-cisgender, transgender, gender-fluid and independent of their sex and gender. In addition, Technoetic Arts invites a variety of scholarly material (including research articles, interviews, transcription of roundtables, as well as contextualised artist statements and speculative fiction) reflecting on research methodologies, collaboration strategies, knowledge sharing, public versus personal, embodiment and materiality.

Deadline for submission: October 30, 2022

Submissions should be made via the Technoetic Arts online system. Please see the Notes for Contributors on the Intellect website. For submissions that might deviate from the traditional academic article format (for example, for interviews, art reviews, etc.), please contact the editorial organism for further discussion.
